With ever increasing energy prices and global warming in the news every day, last year we decided to install solar panels here at our offices.
A year on we've decided to take a look at how they've performed. As they are located on the roof, it's easy to forget that they're there producing power for our private data centre everyday.
To date we've generated nearly 30MWh of electricity, enough to power 8 UK homes for the year. Of course running a data centre, we use most of the power to keep our servers online, but when the sun shines we're putting power back into the National Grid too.
