Portland Apartments rent out some very swanky accommodation right in the centre of Cheltenham. The perfect places to stay for business or pleasure and ideally situated for a bit of sight-seeing round the Cotswolds, a trip to the races or better still – come and meet the geeks at Webnetism’s Cheltenham web design studio!
They came to us because their existing on-line booking system just wasn’t meeting their needs (more “Saveloy” than “Savoy” to be honest). The public website looked dated and really didn’t reflect the high quality accommodation and service they provided.
So, what did we do?
First off, we came up with a modern new website design – far more in keeping with the Portland Apartments brand.
Many elements of responsive web design were also used to make it easier for guests to book on-line using their mobile phone or tablet device.
Next, we set them up on Webnetism’s on-line hotel and apartment booking system (a new plug-in module for our CMS:42 content management system). This powerful but really easy to use module includes everything you would expect from a modern on-line booking system, such as:
- Occupancy calendar – provides an “at-a-glance” view of which rooms/apartments are available and which are occupied.
- Special offers and breaks – a totally flexible way to add your own special offers (e.g. “free champagne”, “stay 2 nights get a third free”) and set up breaks on rooms/apartments for specific dates (e.g. Romantic valentines breaks).
- Fully customisable – add new units, room features/facilities and optional “extras” (like flowers, chocolates, bottles of bubbly).
All of Portland Apartment’s existing bookings and customer records (we never knew there were so many “Smiths” around!) were easily imported into the Webnetism on-line booking module meaning a seamless and pain-free switch over from their old site.
And unlike most on-line booking systems available, with no limit on the number of units that can be added to the website, they don’t have to worry about any additional costs as their portfolio of apartments grows.
